念願の玉切り台も完成！

玉切りじゃなく丸太加工での使用ですが。

Long waited new item, DIY log cutting base!

Earthoven II #1

土台の基礎はその辺に落ちてた石、その上に間伐して一部削った丸太を井桁に乗せていき土台とする。

The base is rocks found around the garden. Piling logs up in parallel crosses. This base holds the earthoven.

丸太の加工は割りたい長さ(今回は端から30cm)に先に切れ目を入れて楔を打ち込むと杉は簡単に割れちゃう。

Notched in first then strikes the wedge where you wanna cut. Japanese cider is easy to modify.

残りは鑿で荒削りして完成。

Chiseled off the surface a bit and that’s all.

この加工を両サイドに、後は乗せて座りとレベルで必要なら更に削る。アースオーブンは最終的に作る小屋の近くに移すので、その時はこの丸太達は割って薪にするか加工して再利用の予定。前日思いついた案だから切ったばかりで水分たっぷりの丸太の乾燥も兼ねている。

Process this on the other side. If it doesn’t sit well then chisel more. I’ll move the earthoven after our place is build. And when the time comes these logs become firewood.

ここまで組んだら上に丸太を敷いて台は完成。

午前中はここまでとしてお茶タイム。午後は粘土と煉瓦で窯床まで作るぞ～
