Goemon Bath #1

で、内部の油分や汚れを落とす為に水を張って点火。

Now I could pour water in and lit up to clean off oil and dust.

タワシで擦る。

綺麗になったところで錆転換スプレーの出番、写真は一層目を塗った後。真っ赤だった表面の赤錆が黒錆に転換されて蘇る！塗料を使わなくてもクエン酸と紅茶パック(タンニン) で同じ化学変化を起こせるけど、今回はものが大きいので簡単に～

ただこの手の錆転換材は樹脂コーティングも入っていて、これの場合は特殊エポキシ樹脂。この樹脂は一週間くらいお風呂を沸かす度に剥がれて水面に浮いて来た、今は全部剥がれたらしく樹脂の浮きは無くなった。まあ五右衛門風呂に使う想定はしてないからしょうがないかな。

Renova splay was the one I chose. This kinda splay changes red rust to black rust which coats the surface of this cast iron bath. You can do this chemical reaction with citrus acid and tea pack(tannin). But the bath is big and needed a lot so I chose the fast way.

One problem was that these products contain epoxies for surface coating as well. I wasn’t sure if that stays or not with high temperature. I needed to try and find out. Surely it came off every time it got hot. But about a week later I see no more epoxy.

先に作っておいた踏み台付きの枠を合体、土台には母屋の床下を支えていた半分の重量ブロックを土に埋めて高さ調整。

The flame with a step was prepared before this. Looks better now.

蓋と中敷も加えたら五右衛門風呂完成！

既に完成してから１ヶ月以上たってるけど露天の五右衛門風呂は最高です！
