Trekking Poles are an easy MYOG if you want make it simple. You can get materials online and find how to sites or video too. I don’t know if I need poles for waking on PCT yet but with my knees still healing I should make one set of poles.

 

トレッキングポールの自作は比較的簡単、しかも今はAmazonで必要なものは揃うしオンラインで作り方紹介してる人も簡単に見つかる。PCTではポールをシェルターでは使うけど歩くのに必要かは分からない、そもそも膝が完全復帰するかで変わってくるだろう。

Materials (TA)

Carbon pipe10mm×500mm×2(Amazon), stainless Pipe 8mm, cork(Cainz Home),  Leki flex-tip(L-Breath), guy line, resin adhesive.

Carbon pipe12mm×500mm×2, Black Diamond Tech Tip, flex tip(Amazon), stainless Pipe 8mm, cork(Cainz Home), guy line, resin adhesive with some pieces of TA poles(10mm).

 

今回はTAより丈夫で、でも軽さは維持。

材料

カーボンパイプ 12mm×500mm×2, Black Diamond Tech Tip, flex tip(Amazon), ステンレスパイプ 8mm, コルク(Cainz Home), ガイライン, エポキシ接着剤とTA poleをバラして繋ぎの材料に。

I replaced the cheap flex tip with Black Diamond Tech one. On TA, Leki’s tip was gone by the half point but Distance Carbon Z’s tips are still good after 1,300km in South Island. So I made an extra work for it to last longer. Total cost is only 3,500 yen which is US$30 for two. If you can find materials it easy and fun making it!

 

Amazonで買ったFlex-tipは２つで280円の安物、その先端をBlack DiamondのTech Tipと交換する。TAではLEKIのflex-tipを採用したが半分くらいで確認したらTipは削れてなくなっていたが、渓がWellingtonで買ったDistance Carbon ZのTipは1,300km終えた後もまだまだ行ける状態だ。そこまでグリップを重視している訳ではないが長く使うには丈夫な方が良い。材料費は3,500円、Tipを交換しなければ2,500円で出来る軽くて簡単な楽しいMYOG！
