Hiker’s Depot

I always visit this store before a big trip. The last time I was here to buy a mattress (山と道 UL.Pad 15s+) for Te Araroa. Hiker’s Depot is all about ultralight. Probably most through hikers come here before going abroad like me. This time I got some piece of Astro Foil for DIY cozy, a shovel(Mog by Mizo) for poop, Seam Grip +Sil and some titanium stakes. 

大きな旅の前はやっぱりハイカーズデポ。多分日本で最初にアメリカのスルーハイクの文化を持ち込んだお店。前回は山と道 UL.Pad 15s+を買いに来た。TAで使い倒してペラペラになったけど暖かくてまだまだ現役、でもPCTは別マット〜。今回のお目当は自作Cozy用にAstro Foil、MizoのMogをトイレ用、Seam Grip +Sil はタープの目止めして残りは補修用に持っていって、後はチタンのペグをいくつか買ってしまった。近所に住んでたらどんどん買ってしまいそうな魅力に溢れたお店(ULハイカーには)、殆どの海外へ行くスルーハイカーはここに寄ってから行ってると思う。

I brought Murmur, my backpack for TA and showed to the owner Mr.Tsuchiya. Because I got it here in 2011. unexpectedly He got so excited and grabbed murmur and brought to his co-woker Mr.Hasegawa(PCT hiker) and asked me if I minded him taking a picture of my murmur. I said not at all. It’s definitely a small backpack for through hike but that was enough for me to carry everything I needed.

TAで使ったMurmurはこちらで2011年に土屋さんから購入、バックアップに持って行ったけどメインで使うことになったカバンを見せたら何故か土屋さんが大興奮、長谷川さん(PCT hiker) に見せてくるって行って隣のブースへ、更に写真撮っていい？ってもちろん！あとで確認したらお店のTwitterにアップされてました〜

The owner is going to John Muir for three weeks with newest model of murmur mostly walking off trails.

土屋さんはこの夏はジョンミューアトレイルを３週間歩きに行くそうです。ほぼほぼオフトレイルを歩いてジョンミューアが見ていた景色の中を歩きたいんだと目を輝かせてました〜
