そもそも新しいコンポストトイレを作り出したきっかけは虫の発生、なので蓋を閉めた時の換気口を作る事に。そんな虫だらけのトイレもNZのTe Araroa上にあったトイレに比べれば可愛いもの。

The insects were crazy in the old one. But the real crazy ones we’ve ever used were on Te Araroa, in NZ. Compare to that ours were nothing. Anyway I wanted to have ventilations on the new toilet which insects can’t get in.

穴をあけた部分にMYOGで余ってたメッシュ生地を貼ればオッケー。これは完成した後の話だが発酵熱はかなりのもので蓋を開けると内部は水滴だらけ、それを見ると換気口はもっと必要かも。

Put mesh sheets on them from my MYOG stuff. Actually I may need more ventilations because the contents get fermented and create heat. So it gets lots moist inside it.

便座は少し削って座り心地を確保、もう少し削りたいかな～。最後に無臭柿渋を塗ってみた、柿渋は今年自分で仕込んでみたいものの一つ。

Sheets are simple wood boards, shaved a little bit. I put Kakishibu(natural paint made from persimmon). Kakishibu is the one I want to make it this year.

Pork Rice was the dinner for today. Kei was talking about it for a few days since she found it on a recipe book. That was yummy!
