片付けをしたおばあちゃんの家から蚊帳が出てきた。

子どものころ、夏に祖父母の家に行くと蚊帳を張ってくれて、その中に入って寝るのがなんとも嬉しくて、ワクワクしたのを覚えている。

夏の夜は冷房をかけて眠る現代では、蚊帳も死語になりつつあるのかな～

KAYA, a mosquito net was found in the house.

Visiting my grandparents in the summertime when I was little. I remember that I was excited sleeping in kaya.

Nowadays we use air conditioner in the warm night so the word “kaya” is rare to hear.

長いこと押入れで眠っていた蚊帳はすっかり穴ぼこだらけになっていたので、チクチク手縫いで繕うことに。

日中40度越えするテントの中ではとても過ごせないけれど、この木陰のデッキは涼しくて、たまに抜けていくそよ風が気持ちいい。

Well this kaya stayed here for so long. It was full of holes needed repair. 

It’s get 40° in our tent and no way sticking kaya inside. But our little deck is under the tree and cool wind comes through. I like this spot especially the weather gets hot.

チクチクする横で、育雛箱からウッドデッキに世界を広げたピヨピヨ達。

新しい世界に好奇心たっぷり。

ふら〜っと飛んできた虫に興味深々だけど、ちょっと怖くて後退りする姿が笑えた。

Chicks are happy being on the deck beside me. Usually they stay in a box too tiny for naughty girls.

It was a whole new world to them.

They wonder around found an insect landing nearby. They wanted play with it but too scared and back down haha.

遊んでほしいらしくチクチクしているわたしの回りをピヨピヨ。

I know you wanna play right?

気づけばスヤスヤ、おやすみタイム～

Got quiet suddenly, play hard and sleep well. That’s what kids do.

いや～それにしても暑い…

夕飯にはさっぱりと冷麺を。

気分はもう真夏！

Dinner was REIMEN, cold noodle.

I feel a mid summer already!
