久米南町にあるパーマカルチャーセンター上籾（通称 パミモミ）へ行ってきたのはつい先日のこと。

月に1回開催されるオープンデイに参加してきた。

まずはパミモミ内を実際に歩いてまわりながら、パーマカルチャーの説明やこの土地のこと、これからの構想などを主催のカイルさんの案内で～

案内をしてもらった時に、これはいいと思ったのがインスタントガーデン！

Permaculture Center Kamimomi(Pamimomi) is located in the center of Okayama run by Kyle Holzhueter. It’s less than an hour away from our place.

Nobu’s been here once but it was the first time for me to visit. Pamimomi has Open Day once in a month to welcome people, explaining about Pamimomi and permaculture and we do a little work helping this place.

First, Kyle took us a tour walking around explaining stuff and a future plan.

On the tour I was interested in the instant garden!

土の上にダンボールを敷いて、囲いを作って、中に肥料を入れるだけの簡単につくれる畑。だからインスタント！

ダンボールを敷くことで雑草を予防できるし、耕す手間が無いうえに、モリモリ野菜が育つらしい！

ちなみにいくつかのインスタントガーデンは果樹の下にあるので、縦の空間も有効利用した形で成り立っている。そして、果樹のおかげで冬は霜から守ってもらえ、夏は暑い日差しから守ってもらえるという利点があるそう。

Cover the ground with cardboards, enclosing it with bamboo. Then put compost on top. That’s it!

Cardboards keep the weeds shut and it does compost themselves. No fighting with weeds and no cultivation.

And one of them is located under a fruit tree. The tree cover the frost and snow in winter, also protect them from strong sunshine in summer. Wow!

空間を有効的に使うのもパーマカルチャーにおける大事な視点なんだとか！おもしろい～

パーマカルチャーに興味はあるけど、実のところよく知らないので早く実践しながら学んでいきたくてウズウズする。

Not only use space vertically but 3D and that’s an important point of view by permaculture! I like it~

I knew the word “Permaculture” but never really understood about it. Now I’m interested in permaculture more than ever.

山の南斜面に段々と佇むこの場所はとても解放的で目下には棚田や山々が広がる。澄み渡った天気のいい日には同じ斜面の高台から瀬戸内海まで見ることができるとか！

ちなみに写真の建物は石場建ての軸組工法で建てられたもの。

次はこの建物にオンドルをつくるワークショップをやるそう。

Pamimomi is located on a slope facing south. Below here sits rice terraces and mountains. Nothing is higher than this place on the south side. If you climb up a little higher on clear sunny day, you have a chance to see Setouchi Sea!

BTW this building on the pic is built by traditional methods of construction called “Ishibadate”. Kyle is planning to place “Ondoru”, Korean floor heater.

案内が終わったあとは、持ち寄りランチタイム。

持ち寄りだと普段自分が作らない、食べたことこのない創意工夫の料理が並ぶので、色んな味を味わえるのが嬉しい。

We had a potluck style lunch, everyone brought dishes.

I like potluck because I get a chance to have meals I don’t usually cook or order.

今回はなんと新鮮な牡蠣を箱いっぱい持ってきて下さった方がいて、山の上で牡蠣祭り～

This time one mister brought a load of oyster. So we had an oyster party!

身が大きくて、プルプルで、最高においしい牡蠣をたらふくいただきました。

They were huge and fresh! Thanks I never had this much oysters!!!

お腹も心も満たされ、午後からはパンの会へ参加。
