ニュージーランドのテアラロアトレイルで出会ったフィンランド人のカップル、アナとトーマスがシベリア鉄道に乗ってロシアを横断し、韓国からフェリーで鳥取県の境港に来るという話を少し前にノブから聞いていた。

私たちがテントに引っ越して2日目のこと。

ちょうどその日に境港に到着したアナとトーマス。

「今日2人が津山に来るって！」

と彼らと連絡を取り合っていたノブからの突然の報告。

We met Anna&Tuomas on Te Araroa, thruhike in New Zealand. Nobu told me that they were on the way to Japan through Russia by the Trans-Siberian Railroad and get to Sakaiminato, Tottori by a ferry.

That was the second day we moved to the tent when Nobu said that Anna&Tuomas were coming here!

てっきり境港で海鮮でも堪能し、ゆっくりするのかと思っていたのだけれど、日本海側は生憎の天気と寒さでのんびりする気にもならず、私たちの住む津山行きを決めたそう。

ヒッチハイクであっという間に津山へやってきた彼ら！旅慣れしているだけあって、さすがです～

We thought they’d enjoy seafood at Sakaiminato but the weather was bad so they decided to see us here.

Took them three cars hitching to get to Tsuyama! Yeah they’re the real traveler.

ということで我が家へのはじめてのお客さまはなんとフィンランドから！

テアラロアトレイルで共に過ごした時間はそんなに長くないけれど、なんだかずっと昔から知っている友達のようで、こうして再び再会できたことが本当に嬉しい。

テントで寝泊まりすることに慣れている彼らなので、私たちのテント暮らしも物ともせず楽しんでくれました。

Well our first guest in our granping tent were from Finland!

We didn’t spend much time on TA but I felt we knew each other for a long time. So I was really happy seeing them again.

We had a good night drinking and chatting. I hope they enjoyed our tent life.

Next day we went to Onsen spot near Tsuyama.
