伐採してあった竹は曲がったものも多く、作業のしにくさもあって、やっぱり真っ直ぐの竹を使おう！ということで、デッキづくりの手を休め竹を伐採、枝打ちする作業へ。予定は未定でその日の天気や状況に合わせて作業内容は柔軟に。

この作業が実は大変で、竹が密集して生えすぎているので真っ直ぐな竹だけを切り倒す訳にもいかず、真っ直ぐな竹を切る為に、曲がった竹やもう枯れている竹も一緒に切り倒して、一本一本枝打ちしていく。とにかく時間も体力も使う作業だ。

Had to stop making the bamboo deck because we ran out of straight bamboos. Cut more bamboos!!! The plan isn’t quite a plan it’s all depending on how we wanna play.

中には強靭な蔓が遥か遠くの竹と竹の枝先に絡みついていて竹が倒れない！なんてことも。

上の写真は蔓から引き離そうと懸命に竹を引っ張ってるところなんだけど、全く太刀打ちできず。

Sometimes a tendril ties bamboos together so you need to cut more than you want.

粉雪が舞うほどの冷え込みで、あまりの寒さにお昼休憩ではノブに焚き火のリクエスト。

着火剤にもってこいの杉の葉っぱもそこら辺に沢山落ちているので大助かり～

あるものでなんでもできてしまう豊かさ！

My buddy works hard.

It was a cold day, a little snow came down too. So I asked Nobu to make a fire.

We used cedar leaf for the starter and old bamboos of course. Looking that way we’re surrounded by resources.

竹は火力が強いので木と違って長くは燃えないけど、外ですぐ温まりたい時にはとてもいい！

Bamboos got strong fire but short life. Still If you wanna get warm up quick it might be the best choice.

お手製の竹デッキに腰掛けてのランチタイムは喜びもお弁当の美味しさも一入！

こうして作業4日目にして、ついに竹デッキが完成！

やりながらだんだんと竹の扱いにも慣れ、麻紐の縛り方も回を重ねるごとに進化した私達。こういうやり方というのが無いからこそ自由に取り組める楽しさ、正解が無いからこそ、よりよいやり方を試行錯誤していく面白さがある。

最初の方に縛った部分は曲がった竹が浮いてきてガタガタだったりするけど、最後の方は真っ直ぐな竹を切り出したことも功を奏して美しくしっかり仕上がった～

でも自分達で頑張って成し遂げたプロジェクトだからこそガタガタでもなんでもとにかく形になったことが喜びだし、そのガタガタさえも愛おしい！

何事もTry & Error！とにかくやってみること、成し遂げることって大事だな～と改めて。やっていくなかで色んなアイディアが生まれたり、学びや気づきが沢山あって、次はこうしてみよう！ああしてみようと！と次に繋げてみたくなる。だから本当は失敗なんて無いんだよね。行動あるのみ！

It took us four days to complete our first creation here.

We did it! At first we didn’t know how to treat bamboos for the deck. Now we got used to. It was fun doing it all in our way. Or maybe there was no collect way our bamboo deck that made it fun. Being creative is what we want.

Well looking the deck, some of early ones sticking out and not flat at all…but the last half we did it well~

You know even though the floor isn’t even I love our first creation.

Try & Error! Do it before thinking too much also finishing it is important. I came up many new ideas and learned many things while working on it. And those idea will be useful for the next project so the is no failure. Just do it!
