They like red sheet. I heard if you made an egg laying box with red curtain at the entrance they’d love it.

I cut a plastic board to fit the thermostat in the fridge.

外部サーモスタットからのセンサーは元々の物とは規格が違うので横から這わして庫内へ。

The type of sensor is different so I put in the new sensor from the side.

一体化！このチェストフリーザーを冷蔵庫化するやり方は日本のサイトでは見つからなかったけど、英語で検索するとヒット多数。サーモスタットを入れ替えるだけだから配線も簡単、チェストフリーザーだと重い冷気は中に溜まり逃げにくいので低燃費って訳！ただこの段階では現状のバッテリーでは能力不足で起動不可…

Tada! I couldn’t find the Japanese site about how to modify a chest freezer to a fridge. But if you search in English there’re ton of it. Basically replace a thermostat from original to fridge one. Thats all. It’s very eco drive because the cold heavy air stay low.

Unfortunately our battery has not enough power to start up…

 

OFF GRID #1でも説明したけど、ソーラーパネル→チャージコントローラー→バッテリー→インバーターで出力ってのが一般的な自家発電の方法、我が家はソーラーパネル→オールインワンバッテリーシステムは小規模では一番効率が良いと思う。そしてこれからこのシステムを拡張するのである、冷たいものが飲みたいから！

自分が使ったのはデジタルサーモスタット10A/90-250v、入ってる配線図のLoadに繋ぐだけなので興味があればやってみよう！

Solar panel→charge controller→battery→inverter to generate AC is the common solar system. We use Solar panel→all in one battery, very simple one. If you don’t need so much power like us this is the best choice. And now I’ll upgrade whole system because I wanna drink cold beer!

いつでも冷たい物が楽しめるって普通の生活だと当たり前だよね、でもここの生活はまだスルーハイクに近い、テントだし。PCTを歩いてる時は雪があると喜んだな～ボトルに詰めて濾過した水を詰めてキンキンで飲むのが最高だった、ベリーを採って入れればフレーバーウォーター！

Well come to think of cold drinks I remember back on the PCT. I was always looking for snow. If it was close to the trail I filed my bottle with snow and then poured in filtered water. Cold drinks were the real treat. If you add berries you can make flavor drinks too.

We live in a tent nobflashing toilet and a working fridge. It’s like we’re still on trail haha.

It’s full of hackle berries and salmon berries in a bottle, cooling down with spring water. I loved Oregon and Washington because they have lots yummy berries.
