私達が移住する先は今すぐには住めないので、準備が整うまでの間はノブの実家から歩いてすぐのところにあるおばあちゃんの家に仮住まいさせてもらうことに。ありがたい限りです。

朝からおばあちゃん宅に全ての荷物を下ろして、レンタカーを返却。レンタカーは乗り捨てで借りたので近くのトヨタレンタカーに返すだけ。ありがたいシステムだけど乗り捨て料金がなかなかの値段でした～

We stay at Nobu’s grandma’s place near his parents house. Unload all of our stuff here then return the car. The rental price wasn’t much but the cost for leaving the car here took more. It was convenient anyway.

Well the place we’re moving need some preparation. So we’ll be staying here for a couple of weeks. Thanks for grandma!

下ろした荷物を軽く整理したあとは、東京でやり残した鉈のレザーケース作りに取り掛かった。

学生のころに授業でレザークラフトはやったことあるけど、ほとんど馴染みのない作業なのでノブの指導を仰ぎながら見よう見まねで適当に～

We tidy up our stuff then I started leather crafting which I was supposed to do beforehand.

I had a class about leather craft in school but that doesn’t count. Nobu taught me how and followed his instructions~縫い目の穴あけ作業。

Used a folk making halls.ひと針ひと針丁寧に。

One stitch after another.太陽が気持ちいいから～と外で作業してたけど、すぐに陰ってしまい寒いのなんのって！沢山着込んだんだけど寒すぎたので家の中へ撤退。

It was warm in the sun so I started it outside but then clouds started hiding the sun…I put all my clothes but couldn’t resist.行火で暖をとりながら、黙々と作業。なんだかまるでその道の職人みたい！

A coral warmer was warm in front of me. Well looks like I’m professional isn’t it?半日かけて無事鉈のレザーケースが完成！

ベルトを通す穴もつけたので、腰からかけられる優れもの～

これで枝打ち作業もお手の物。

Took me a half day but finally I made it! It got belt loop and lock system. I can work on bamboos well.ドヤ顔すぎて笑えるね！

右が私の！

自分でつくるとやっぱりそのものに対して気持ちがこもるし、愛着が湧くね。これからの暮らしに欠かせない相棒となる鉈！このレザーケースを使いこんでいくのが楽しみです。

さて、こうしてはじまった岡山での新しい生活。これからどんな暮らしが続いていくのやら！
