DAY43(12/18) Ngaherenga Campsite to Bog Inn 970km-989km

Timber Trail from today is new to Te Araroa. It’s a cycle trail so it’s flat and flat means easy walk for 84km in Pureora Forest.

We planed to do cycling this trail but we messed up with bookings.
This deep forest used to had a pass for lumbering. Transport rail was once here on Timber Trail. Trees are covered with moss high up their trunk is beautiful. Rain started in the middle of the hike which we never minded. Rain enhances the forest and we love it

Board explains about vegetation, birds, histories, Maori cultures and timber work here are nicely placed along the trail.
Nobu’s new old backpack!

Rain stoped and sun came out when we reached the hut. Bog In Hut was built way before I was born. It’s small and old having 4 bank beds with table, chair and woodstove. We like it a lot.
Nobu started fire so we could dry up our gears.

TA Curry soup! You can find Japanese curry in supermarket here. We use it for soup, with rice and mashed potato.
