ABOUT US

“KURASHINONE” the name of this place. This page is about the life we spend everyday.

Geodesic dome greenhouse with bath. Catching heat with water then heat up with fire. The thermal heat slowly gives out during night keeping greenhouse warm. We use the bath water for laundry next morning. CATCH/STORE/CYCLE
Tinyhouse for guests.
This is the newest building with 2,360W solar panels on which to charge our EV. The point is not through battery but power conditioner. So our EV is named Mr.SOL.

House

We moved this place late January, 2019. There was no sight of the house from the entrance when we decided to start our new life here. Clearing up bushes and bamboos, built a bamboo deck and set up a tent. That was how we started. Then Nobu built a tiny hut in December, 2019. Since then we build a geodesic dome greenhouse, another tiny house for guest then a workshop. For the workshop Nobu harvested cedar from our property using timber flame technic to build.

Eat

Brown rice and miso soup are breakfast, bake a bread on shichirin when guests comes and dinner is often brown rice with sth. We pick vegetables from our garden and our chickens provide eggs. Having a plan to grow a little portion of rice soon. We’re not vegetarians but we don’t buy meat anymore. Instead eat wild animals when we have chances, our chickens every once in a while.

Power

We started 180W solar panels and 400W battery. We upgraded the system and now have total of 2,800W panels and 3,700W batteries. Our EV got 10.5kW battery capacity which gives us about 100km drive. We drive with sun power no more fossil fuel anymore.

Off Grid

Fire

Wood stove for cooking in a cold seasons and shichirins with homemade charcoal for warm time. Getting woods and chopping is winter job. Also making charcoals by ourself.

Bio-geo-filter

Water

Not off grid yet. We filter rainwater for cooking and drinking by sawyer. In the near feature we’ll make slow sand filtration(ecological filtration) using rain and well water. And bio-geofilter for drainage leading it to a biotope rice field.
