Beginning of Motatapu Alpine Track is through beech forest and it says path to the first hut is the easiest. Poisonous look mushrooms are everywhere!
Tussock land came after toward the first hut.
Fern Burn Hut
Real climb started here to the saddle, according to the trail note it gets harder but it wasn’t that bad. The harder part was a long hill down after the saddle it almost killed my knees.
My knees were squeaking but still the magnificent view helped me. And the path down the hill looked like a giant slug crawled around funnily.
