Weather in the Tararua Range is notorious deteriorating rapidly. Fortunately the weather would hold until Monday.
Tararua Ranges
Starting from 105m above the sea and highest point was 985m. Total ascent was 1212m, total descent was 502m. It was alright in distance wise but many ups&downs slowed us down. Also humidity was high and I was sweating a lot and exhausted. Even so Nobu was walking just normally in front of me.
When I got to the hut my legs became sticks couldn’t bend any more.
Te Matawai Hut
We heard mice were wandering around at night so we hung our stuff for safety. ( I heard some of them during the night but no one got any problem.)
Thai soup is now our favorite! Coconut flavor with spicy taste is yummy.
